Lambpoint 2026
101 S Linden St
10:00 – 18:00
The VCU HEMA 2026 Lambpoint Competition is being held on Saturday, April 11th. Check-in will start at 9 am, and the tournament will last from 10 am to 6 pm. There will be an hour-long break for lunch after the pools finish. The location for the competition is Cary Street Gym (101 S Linden St, Richmond, VA 23284) in the Multi-Activity Court (second floor turf). This competition aims to provide a beginner-friendly fencing experience to introduce new fencers to a steel tournament. Therefore, this tournament will be limited to competitors who have competed in three or fewer steel longsword tournaments. What we want to bring out of fencers is strategic decision-making when picking targets to strike. To achieve this goal, there will be a weighted point system outlined in a section below. The secondary goal within this tournament is to limit the number of doubles that take place. Because of how heavily weighted clean actions will be, fencers should strive to protect themselves and hit their opponent. Medals will be awarded to the top three participants. The results will be uploaded to HEMAratings. Fencers must pre-register by 11:59 pm April 1st, 2026. All participants must be 18 years or older and abide by all VCU policies and regulations, including: - All swords and fencing equipment must remain in an opaque bag until checked in by event staff. - All Non-VCU participants must remain in the appropriate event vicinity. - All participants must wear appropriate safety equipment while fencing. - Any spectators under the age of 18 must be signed in by a parent or guardian. - No alcohol, tobacco, vapes, or illicit substances are allowed on VCU property.Mandatory Safety Equipment for Steel Fencing is as follows: - Fencing mask - Rigid Back of Head - Plastron - Fencing Jacket - Heavy Rated Gloves - Gorget - Rigid forearm protectors - Rigid elbow protectors - Cup - Shin Guards This is a (point system/target priority) Steel longsword tournament. For a full list of our rules and regulations, see our Official Rules & Guidelines. By registering, you agree to follow these guidelines.  For access to the event on HEMA Scorecard, click Here.
